Blues Brothers Banned Review PDF Print E-mail

This suavely dressed 11-person ensemble all the way from the States (allegedly) offers its audience a lot, not a little, of everything from dancin' on our feet to swayin' in our seat . After only a tiny bit of taunting over this elusive 'cow bell,' the band comprised of boys and two token ladies warm up the crowd with some choreographed mischief and classic tunes. The two goofy, singing comedians (one of which refuses to acknowledge the pronunciation of this fine capital sans the 'G' sound. This ain't Pittsburgh, boys-it's Edimbra!) lead the pack in a show that involves the audience just as much as it does the rest of the band. A random gent called Jeff is pulled from the crowd for an impromptu hip hop number that has everyone doubled-over; a rendition of My Girl brings a harmony of finger-snapping all around; and when the Jackson Five's Blame It on the Boogie begins, there's no containing a single soul. With the entire audience having an insane little boogie, Everybody Needs Somebody to Love brings the house down and sends everyone away, a sea of smiles, thinking, certainly, of how incredibly enjoyable the night has been, and how little this recovered cowbell indeed had to do with it!
