School Of Comedy Review PDF Print E-mail

Kids swearing! And performing rude jokes! Thankfully, the pupils within The School of Comedy far exceed the gimmicky expectations that their show suggests. Fast-paced, high-energy sketch-comedy is the order of the day, with jokes coming thick and fast. This is very much an ensemble piece, with each performer adding their own unique personality into the mix of mostly hit (but sometimes miss) sketches. Far and away the best is one centring on Polish migrancy, and brilliantly tackles the issue in an interesting, unpatronising and hilarious way. Occasionally awkward are the more sexual jokes: at one point an audience member is asked if the show turns him on. Luckily, and legally he replies with a resounding ‘no’. Great sketches, expertly performed by a troupe whose talent belies their age.
