This New York hit comedy has the audience in hysterics over fantastically delivered readings of various celebrity autobiographies, from the ridiculous to the diva, from the ‘Hoff’ to Diana Ross. The professional, confident cast of comedians are, without exception, able to create moments of brilliance through physical expression and excellent comic timing without altering the original texts of the books.
The audience remain gripped by the varying dramatic monologues and the juxtaposition of contradictory excerpts that expose the truths and untruths of celebrity relationships, from Katie Price and Peter Andre to Elizabeth Taylor and Richard Burton.
A unique and popular show (close to a sell-out already), the creators have collectively read over three hundred celebrity autobiographies and selected excerpts that, delivered with panache by the likes of Eugene Pack, Michael Urie and George Went, lightly mock the questionable and ever-increasing ‘literary’ genre of celebrity autobiographies.
In light of recent events, additions to the show such as ‘How I Play Golf’ by Tiger Woods take on hilarious connotations as the shows Emmy-award winning creator, Eugene Pack, reads of Wood’s ‘creative distractions’ and techniques for ‘stroking his put’.
The wit of the comedy cast exposes the witlessness of the celebrity world itself, and the misguided wisdom stars feel necessary, however ineloquently, to share with the world. An hour passes quickly with talent like this - a spontaneous and original show that will have you laughing from start to finish!
