altThis voyeuristic comedy boasts a strong all-female cast, an insight into the nightly break-ups, break-downs and break-throughs that happen in the space of a toilet cubicle, and ‘Shewee’ as their proud sponsor.

When Women Wee
is toilet humour in all its glory. The five actresses - Amy Revelle, Stephanie Jay, Natasha Sparkes, Amirah Garba and Emily Wallis - begin the night together as a group of mates getting dolled up in the club’s toilets, before sliding between different characters and scenarios for the remainder of the show. The wealth of personalities that these women muster is enormous and yet the momentum of the show is never lost: when one struts or stumbles out, another comes in fiercely clutching her bag of make-up or her overactive bowels.

This comedy is genuinely funny, with each of the girls having a stand-out performance in one of their various guises: Natasha Sparkes’ drunkard was particularly memorable as she moved like Bambi on ice across the stage in wobbling, six-inch stilettos. Emily Wallis, likewise, had the audience doubled up as the cowboy-hat-wearing raver simultaneously chomping her face off and delivering pearls of wisdom to herself in the mirror.

When Women Wee is neither prissy nor apologetic. This rawness lends it its edge and makes it all the more authentic and funny, after all I am sure everyone can identify and sympathise with at least one of the experiences plated up by these girls.  The eponymous title says it all, though: girly niche market only.
