altDelete the Banjax may have left their pigs and ponies at home, but if this show is anything to go by they are more than capable of filling their allotted shed (the Beside) - no farmyard animals necessary.

Comprised of the talented Samuel Champion, Daniel Cook, Gareth Cooper and Caroline May-Jones, Delete the Banjax is going from strength to strength with every Fringe gig they do. This is their third, and, while it is by no means perfect, there is something about their lack of polish and pretension that is so refreshing and engaging you cannot help but hope this foursome succeeds.

With a series of wacky sketches up their sleeves, this team is playful, resourceful and delightfully dippy. One or two of the cast may appear a few buttons short of a cardigan but this works in their favour - only Sam could pull off being a Roman gladiator who thinks ‘The Lion’ is only a nickname for his next opponent. But do not be fooled; they are a nimble-minded lot. The long running gag on re-branding is ingenious, with their brainstorming boards being awash with hilarious alternatives. I think ‘debt fête’ and ‘school botherer’ should have definitely been given the go-ahead personally.

They are still building and testing out their act, but, if you go with this in mind, I am positive that you will come out beaming and secretly pondering whether the inept parents feeding their newborn Babybel joke came from a source close to one of their eccentric homes. My conclusion: Be a guinea pig and have a laugh in their sort-of-capable hands. The four and five stars are yet to come.
